Things to do in Nicosia
This page is organised so that you can get used to the Cypriot way of life. First you must have a coffee, then something to eat and finally you can think about doing other things! Nicosia has a new area and an old preserved area. It is the only capital in Europe that is still divided. Having recently re-visited Nicosia, it is good to see that now lots of new places have opened as well - places that Eleni did not know about: many look nice too.

Places for Coffee
- Octana, Nicosia -Situated in the picturesque old town of Nicosia, this place is a little pricey but a nice experience.
- Kala Kathoumena - Situated in Nicosia, in the old town. For a traditional experience of Cypriot coffee with a twist (photos).
- You will find many other places for coffee in the pedestrianised street (Ledras Street).
Places for Food
- El Pueblo - The best Mexican food I have ever had and it is in Cyprus!
- Louis Taverna & Restaurant, Nicosia - I have not tried this place but Trip Advisor gives it very good reviews.
- Pyxida Fish Tavern - Highly recommended by Eleni if you eat fish. I do not like fish so cannot comment! Highlight: best lemon sorbet.
- Zanettos - Traditional Cypriot food.
- Il Forno - Italian restaurant on Ledras Street.

Historical Sites
- Paphos Amphitheatre - Situated at the other end of the island, but still on the Greek side, this is particularly good for live concert events. At time of writing this, it is too far in advance for June events to be listed so it will be worth checking closer to the time.
- Cyprus Archaeological Museum - Features pre-historic to early Christian times.
- Laiki Geitonia -
